Thank you for your interest in supporting our work in Central America! It would be an honor to have you be part of our team. We are supported by a group of family friends and a couple of churches in the Portland, Oregon area including Easthill Foursquare Church in Gresham, Countryside Community Church in Sherwood, and Aims Community Church in Corbett.
As field workers, we are 100% donation supported and don’t receive any kind of salary. We can say from experience that is more than a little nerve racking to not have a fixed salary, but it has pushed us to grow in faith and it is amazing to see what God has allowed us to accomplish while lacking something that the whole world considers a life essential.
Any gift given is always a blessing but we would encourage you to consider giving on a monthly basis, even if you are only able to give a small amount. It is a great blessing to us and helps us to be able to plan for future ministry opportunities.
As well, we always have specific larger projects and needs that we are raising funding for if you prefer to give towards something specific. Below is a short list of a few of our current special needs.
- A new laptop for Douglas. The need is $800
- Local and regional mobilization: Karen and Douglas travel frequently both Costa Rica and around Central America, visiting churches and YWAM bases mobilizing for missions. Our annual need is $1000.
- Pastoral Visit: Every year we do a pastoral visit to some of the field workers we have launched over the last few years. This year Karen has a global Member Care consultation in Malaysia, so we are planning to take advantage of the trip and visit our field workers serving in Japan and Thailand. We estimate that our travel and Ministry costs will run around $5000.
